Luego, se rebela contra su padre, pide ayuda a los suevos y a los bizantinos, y se titula rey.  Los aliados le abandonan, Leovigildo toma Sevilla, Hermenegildo  cae en sus manos y, tras resistirse heroicamente a renunciar a su fe, es asesinado en Tarragona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En tan remoto laberinto, s\u00f3lo se advierte una luz clara; alguien muere por la fe de la Iglesia. As\u00ed lo proclama mil a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s <strong>Sixto V<\/strong> al canonizar a<strong> San Hermenegildo<\/strong>, y <strong>G\u00f3ngora<\/strong> apela a toda la fastuosidad de su lenguaje para describir la gloria celestial del m\u00e1rtir: \u00abEn tanto que t\u00fa alcanzas ver a Dios, vestir luz, pisar estrellas\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fuente. <em>La casa de los Santos.
